Christy Lee Fender System Repair

Here is the latest update on the Christy Lee fender system repair.

Two flexi floats have been replaced and work has begun on the permanent fender system winches. Welders continue to install the necessary frame work and attachment points to mount heavy (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene or UHMW) plastic strips on the rear diagonal support guides and for the large (Yokohama) fenders on the face of the flexi floats. Future plans include welding the last attachment point to connect the fender system horizontally and to install the UHMW strips and Yokohama fenders; remove all equipment and demobilize the vessels once the Tesoro Marine Superintendant has inspected the completed fender system to receive a tanker.

Staff will continue to monitor progress and report back to you as information becomes available.
