Membership Renewal

2013 is speeding by.  Some of you have already renewed your membership for 2013. THANK YOU!  The Board of Directors have been very busy keeping themselves informed, attending meetings, making personal connections and advocating for our membership in many ways that are not always easily seen in the public eye.  Please be assured that while there is always more that CAN be done, your Association leadership is staying alert, active and accomplishing much.  In order to keep this activity at maximum level and deal with the important issues currently facing our membership, ALL OF YOU are needed to support Kenai Peninsula Fishermen’s Association by keeping your membership current, recruiting new members and/or making contributions.

There are several ways to pay for and submit your membership application/renewal as well as additional contributions;

Go to our website kpfaalaska.org, click on the Membership tab at the top, print the form and mail your membership dues or contributions directly to the office at; Kenai Peninsula Fishermen’s Association, 43961 K-Beach Rd., Ste. F, Soldotna, AK  99669.

Pay online through PayPal. If you choose this option you will also need to obtain a membership form through our website, email it to kpfa@alaska.net or mail it to the above address.

Stop by the office, but please contact Chris at (907) 252-1080 to make sure that someone will be there.

If you are interested in being on one of our committees or volunteering in the future please contact our Committee Coordinator Jan Kornstad at (907) 776-8842.

Thank you to our active membership and volunteers for the time and effort that you have put forth. Your help is greatly appreciated by all.

February 14, 2013 the last Upper Cook Inlet Task Force meeting was held and the discussion was heavy on escapement goals and step down. There was no consensus on the final suggested language.

Any action that was discussed at this last meeting is not official and will not be official unless the language is submitted to the Board of Fish (BOF). This would mean that it would have to be published no later than February 19 for public notice (30 days must be given for a comment period) in order to be taken up at the March Statewide Finfish Meeting, March 19-24, 2013. KPFA will be attending this meeting to address proposals that could have an adverse affect on us.
