The Kenai Peninsula Fishermen’s Association is proud to offer Funding Our Fishermen’s Future. We will award two $500.00 scholarships, one each to two individuals interested in continuing their education. The scholarships will be awarded to any person currently involved in the commercial fishing industry who is recommended by a KPFA member and is completing an apprenticeship, learning a trade or attending a postsecondary institution.
Scholarship requirements are as follows:
• Contact Information
• A recommendation from a current KPFA member (see attached form)
• An essay on “How setnetting has shaped you.” (500 words or less)
• Current transcripts, apprentice hours, etc.
• A brief description of community involvement
Scholarships will be awarded by the KPFA board of directors. All applications must be postmarked or received prior to September 1st, 2014. Applications may be faxed, mailed, emailed or returned in person to the KPFA office at:
